The Lightspeed App gives you the ability to link Booking Experts to your Lightspeed POS system. In this article we explain how you can install it for your own administration(s).

Before you can start installing the Lightspeed application, a cost item needs to be created within Booking Experts. The cost item will act as the basis for the invoice line that will be added to the reservation by Lightspeed and should have the following settings:
Name: Receipt Payment;
Type: Other;
Selectability: Backoffice;
Applicability: All types and channels;
Price calculation: Per stay;
Standard prices: €0,00;
Ledger account: A balance account to be selected/set up yourself with 0% VAT;
Validity: Always.

1. Installing the application

In order to install the application you need to have access to the App Store, in this case there will be a market stall at the top of your Booking Experts menu bar. If you don't have this yet, ask Support to activate the App Store for you.

1. Click on the icon for the   App Store;
2. Then choose the  Lightspeed Application;

3. Click on +Install within the application;

4. Here you see an overview of what the application can see in your administration(s);

5. Choose the administration(s) for which this application is to be installed and click on Install;


6. The application is successfully authorized. Click on OK to continue;

7. Under Commands, choose Authorize Lightspeed;

8. Log in with E-mail and password;

9. The application is now authorized at Lightspeed as well. Click OK to continue;

10. Under Commands, click Business locations;

11. To add a new business location, click +Add;

12. Select the desired Lightspeed business location for which payments should be accepted; 
13. Choose the desired Administration where payments should be linked to reservations;
14. Select the Base Cost (created before setting up the application) to be used;
Please note! If you want to link multiple Business locations you need to repeat steps 11 through 14.

The application was installed successfully! 🎉


2. Check Business location and set payment method

To be able to accept payments from Lightspeed, a payment method must be created that is set up to charge to room. At the business location(s) this needs to be set up by going through the steps. This setup takes place in Lightspeed:

3. Paying on account

It is, after a correct configuration possible to pay the receipt on account.
1. Prepare the receipt as taken by the guest;
2. Choose Pay;
3. Choose payment method BookingExperts and click Amount to checkout;
4. Locate the appropriate guest by searching by Room, Name or Reservation Number;
5. Select the desired reservation to which you want to debit the receipt;
6. The cost of the receipt has been posted to the guest's invoice, check and send.
De code die tussen haakjes staat komt overeen met de kassabon in Lightspeed voor eventuele controle.
