1. How do I open a cash register?

Before you start your day, you are going to open your cash register. You can only book a payment on an open cash register. This is the moment when you determine how much money is in the cash register before any new payments are booked. You can open the cash register by clicking on the name of the cash register. In the next screen (see picture) you determine which notes and currencies are present in the cash register. By clicking on Create Register count, you have opened the cash register. You must confirm the completed count or click Re-count if the count is not correct.

2. How do I close a cash register?

At the end of the day you want to close the cash register and deposit the amount credited to the cash register to the safe. In the cash register you can choose Close Cash Register.

Here you enter a new count per payment method. If there is a cash difference, you can explain this in a note field. If the count is correct, you can confirm the count by clicking on Add cash register count. Based on the minimum amount that should be in the safe, the start count, the payments received, an amount is calculated that should be deposited to the safe to start again the next day with the minimum amount of the safe. Click Confirm to register the count or click Recalculate to enter the count again.

3. How do I add an item to the checkout?

To be able to pay for products via the cash register, you must first open it. Click on the buttons of the products that need to be paid for. By clicking twice on the button a product is booked twice. By clicking on the amount, you can adjust the amount. You can also click on No notes to add a note. This is useful if you want to specify an 'other' cash product, for example. You can save the receipt by specifying the payment method used.

Note💡: Did you put something wrong on the receipt? You can remove it by using the bin behind the amount of the receipt.

4. How can I view a created receipt?

Created receipts can be reviewed. In the right-hand submenu of the Cash Register module, select the tab Receipts. Use the filter to search for receipts within a certain period or for a specific employee. By clicking on the invoice line, the receipt opens, so that you can see exactly what was booked.

Tip💡: Is the receipt not correct? You can rebook the entire voucher by clicking on either pin or cash and choosing which cash register to book it against. The voucher will then be credited in full.

5. Can I see how much has been sold during a certain period through the Cash?

You certainly can! The receipt items of the created receipts can be viewed and, if desired, exported. In the POS module, in the right-hand submenu, click Receipt items. Optionally you can choose to use the filters. In the lower right-hand corner click on Receipt items to make the export.

6. Can I check the receipts?

You can check the receipts by exporting the receipt lines..

7. Can I reverse or correct a cash count?

It is not possible to reverse or correct a closed count or cash register. How then to deal with a difference in the cash register?
Correcting a negative count:
Did you enter too little at the count? Then you must correct this by counting the amount that you have entered too little as too much at the next count. So on top of your actual pin count.

Correct a positive count:
Have you entered too much at the count? Then you must correct it by counting the amount you have entered too much as too little at the next count. So you have to subtract this amount from your actual pin count (Note: this may result in a negative amount).

8. Can I reverse a closed checkout?

You probably have a difference in the cash count. This can be a negative or positive difference. Unfortunately, you cannot reverse this. However, it is possible to correct it in a subsequent count. See question 7 for further explanation.

9. What happens to the amount deposited in the cash register?

In Booking Experts you work with the day end count and the amount you deposit in the safe. What you do with the safe is not processed in Booking Experts. Our users often use a separate system for the cash handling, for example, in which they can transfer the deposits from the safe to the bank.

10. Can I deposit money into the till during the day?

It is not possible to add extra money to the count. You will have to open and then close the cash register.

11. Are the numbers of notes and coins recorded in the count?

All counts are registered and can be viewed per period, per cash register or per employee. The data is registered per payment method and can be exported if required. It is not possible to read back the exact contents of the count. It is only about the totals.

12. Can i add two different prices to a single product?

It is not possible to add two or more prices to a product. If you would different prices for a product, you will need to add a new product as is shown in the example below:
