Search & Book - Set special periods
This article explains how to configure a special period in BEX PMS and BEX CMS. When people search for holiday accommodation, they often target specific periods. These special periods allow users to automatically pre-select the date for a specific period in the search and book. This makes it easier for holidaymakers as they no longer have to perform this operation themselves. Special periods include spring holidays, Easter, Ascension and summer holidays.
Create special periods in Booking ExpertsTo create the special periods for statistics
1. Click on the 'Cog wheel' at the top right.
2. In the right submenu, click on 'Special periods'.
3. Click 'New' and give the period a name and set the desired period(s). Every year, you can add new dates to this, so it will automatically be right when a period ends.
4. Click 'Create special period'.
If a special period has already been created and its date is incorrect, it is possible to adjust this period. You can also add the period for the new year to the current period group. This adjustment will then also be included in the statistics.
Specify in BEX CMS in which languages the periods should be displayed
To make the special periods visible on the website, it is necessary to activate the period in the BEX CMS. It is good to know that it may take some time before the special periods are visible in the CMS. To activate the periods, take the following steps:
- In the left menu, click on 'Search & Book' and then on 'Special Periods'.
- Click on the period you want to activate and then enter the languages you want to show the period in.
3. Press the 'Save' button.
Please note! To display the special periods on the Search and Book (/book) page, you need to send a request for this to support@bookingexperts.nl. This is because this can only be activated by Booking Experts.
