What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a form of online marketing that involves payment for a service provided. Affiliates are people who, in exchange for commissions, actively promote advertisers' products and services online. This can take the form of blogs, but it can also take the form of newsletters or advertisements. The affiliate tells about your product or service on its website and earns commission on every purchase. Affiliate marketing is on a no cure no pay basis; the advertiser only pays if results are achieved. So if no purchase is made, nothing has to be paid.

Herefore, we use Tradetracker, the network that brings affiliates and advertisers together. With this, we aim to increase our clients' online presence and sales within the affiliate network.

Sales transactions in Tradetracker

Transactions made via the affiliate network need to be approved in Tradetracker's portal. Make sure you approve in a timely and fair manner so that publishers receive the commission they are entitled to. If you don't, a publisher will remove your listing from their website. We recommend logging into Tradetracker's portal at least once a week to review transactions.

Approve transactions

1. Go to the login page of Tradetracker.
2. Log in with your username and password.
3. On the right, click 'Review sales transactions' under 'To-do list'.
4. If there are transactions open to be judged you will see them listed here, under 'Under review'.
5. Open transactions have an 'Attribute', which is the same as the reservation number in Booking Experts. Use this reference to look up the reservation in Booking Experts and see if it is confirmed or cancelled.
6. If the reservation is confirmed, you can approve it using the green tick. If not, select the red tick and enter the reason for cancellation. This is how you check all open transactions.

If one or more changes are made to the booking afterwards, you can change the order amount. This is only possible before a transaction is approved and not afterwards. You can change the order amount as follows.

Option: change order amount

1. Go to 'Approve sales transactions' (see explanation above).
2. Then click on the right-hand side of the screen on the 4th icon from the left, the grey square with a pencil.
3. Then change the order amount to the correct amount on the right under the heading 'New order amount'. Then click on 'Accept' to complete. You can then approve the transaction.
