Late checkout charge

After you set the late checkout at the type level, you can create a cost item so that the guest pays extra for adding the late checkout. To do this, you need to take the following steps:

Create a new cost item through the cost item submenu called 'late check-out'.
Set the cost item type to 'late check-out' in the general settings.
Set the selectability to mandatory, so that the cost item is always calculated if a late check-out is added.
Set the price calculation to 'per stay' and enter the cost of a late check-out.
Under the heading 'validity', check the 'late check-out fee' box. This will ensure that this cost is considered a late check-out cost.

Would you like to give the guest the option of being able to choose a late check-out while booking? Then you do not need to select the option 'selection by guest' when creating the cost item under selectability. This option actually allows guests to choose whether or not they want to pay for the late check-out and of course that can't be the intention....
