Error messages Twinfield

Dimension 1 must always be filled in

Twinfield says about this error message: ‘Twinfield is composed of a number of (dimension) levels. The first level contains the general ledger accounts, while the other levels contain any sub-administrations. If you receive the message during input that Dimension 1 must always be filled, the ledger account code is still missing.

The entry you wanted to make is therefore missing a general ledger account. Note, this does not necessarily have to be a visible posting line. A general ledger account may also be missing for the VAT code or sub-administration used.

Check this again in Twinfield and adjust if necessary. In Twinfield, go to Settings > Administration settings > VAT.

Click twice on the VAT rate name to view the details. Check whether a general ledger account has been entered under ‘Accounting entries’. An empty field causes this error message.

Within Booking Experts, we use suspense accounts to process payments on. Often these numbers are created as Cash or Bank in Twinfield.

To solve this problem, a new account needs to be created in Twinfield for the different suspense account, the number chosen here can be taken over in Booking Experts.

After this, the synchronisation can be done again.
