Cynox: installation & settings

Cynox is a German company with 25 years of experience in solutions for registering and invoicing power consumption. How to install the app?

Once logged into your Booking Experts PMS, go to the App Store in the light green menu bar. To do this, click on the market stall icon. Type 'Cynox' in the search bar and click on the appropriate result. You are now on the app's detail page. Click the green ‘+Install’ button to install the app.

In the next screen, you can see exactly what information is read and sent by Cynox. At the bottom of this page, you will link your administrations. Check the ‘Access’ box for each administration for which you want to apply Cynox. Then click ‘Install’ to authorise the app and complete the installation.

If you have already set up your account and hardware with Cynox, you can now return to the Cynox app page to complete the settings.

Complete the settings

To set up this app, you must first authorise your Cynox account, and then map your administrations and individual sockets.

Authorise Cynox

Open the Cynox app page in your PMS App Store. Click 'Authorize Cynox' and log in to Cynox to link your account to this integration.

Map administrations

Click 'Administration Mappings' and add your administrations here. Link them to the correct Cynox Campsite as they are known in your Cynox account. Click 'Save'.

Map sockets

Click on the administration you just added. Then go to 'Socket mappings'. In this screen you can select the right Cynox socket for each object, via the dropdown list.

Your Cynox integration is ready for use! The socket will now be switched on and off automatically based on the check-in and check-out of reservations. Read on for more information about points of attention and insight into data.

Important points of attention

  • Make sure that the Cynox app is set up correctly, especially that the sockets are linked to the correct objects.
  • After that, regularly check the meter readings to detect any deviations.

Error message in reception messages

If an error occurs, an error message will be sent to your reception message inbox. This may happen if, for example, a socket does not switch on when it should. Follow up on these error messages quickly to prevent inconvenience for guests.

Access to data from the reservation

Go to the relevant reservation. In the 'Reservation' block you can select 'Cynox: view socket' via the 'Apps' dropdown button. On this detail page, you can see all events (on/off switching) of this socket, as well as the power consumption reading and any errors.

Manual switch

In the detail page of a socket you will also find the button you can use to manually switch the socket on or off. You can also get to the detail page of a socket by starting at the Cynox app page, and then clicking through to 'Administration Mappings', the correct administration, and then to the individual socket.

View all events

Via the 'Events' button on the main screen of the app page, you get insight into all activity of every socket in all connected administrations. You can filter by administration, reservation, and more.
