Introduction

Welcome to CMS by Expert Webdesign for Booking Experts.

You can log into the CMS system via ( https://cms.bookingexperts.nl/admin/users/sign_in) with your email address and password.

1. Start CMS by Expert Webdesign

When you are logged in, you will immediately see an overview of your website. In the right hand column you will see a number of tabs including: Search & book, Settings, and Front page. At the top right corner, you will see the "Preview" button. Clicking on this will give you an example of what your website will look like. This can be especially useful when you apply changes to your website. In the left column you will see an overview of all the functions within the CMS.

2. Settings

You can enter the company details in settings. When you are loggen in you will find these on the second tab. Fill out the details and click Save.

3. Front page

The front page tab is your websites homepage. You will find this tab with Default pages > Front page. On this tab you can see how the page is arranged, and you can choose where you want to put each widget. Read more about this in the article: Page arrangement.

4. SSL Certificat

In short, an SSL certificate ensures that the data exchange between the visitor and your website runs through an encrypted connection. By default, a connection is not secure and information can be intercepted. The SSL certificate indicates that your website is trustworthy and respects the privacy of your visitors. For the visitor, your secure website is identified by a lock before the url in the browsers address bar. By clicking on it, they can see your verified business information.

5. Up-sell option in price grid

It is possible to list Unique Selling Points in the space next to the price grid by using widgets.

1. Select Default Pages in the left hand menu;
2. Next, choose Reservation section;
3. Click on the green + sign to select a widget.

6. Change back-end language Dutch or English

You can change the language of your back-end to English or Dutch by clicking the flag at the top right corner of the screen.

7. Opening link in a new tab

In some cases, it is not possible in BEX CMS to open a link in a new tab, in which case the link will be opened in the existing tab. We have deliberately chosen for this, because visitors would like to have the choice of opening a link in a new tab or not. Forcing the opening of a link in a new tab (especially on mobile devices) may lead to poor user experiences. This includes the following:

not being able to return to "previous page",
having to close a tab on a mobile device followed by having to find the correct tab.

We recommend never to have a link opened in a new tab by default, unless a visitor has filled out a form and may (by accident) lose everything via a link, for instance a link to the "Terms and Conditions".

Where can I edit the meta tags/description of the homepage?
You can edit the meta tags and description of the homepage yourself. Choose Settings & Organization settings in the left-hand menu.
