DNS settings

🇳🇱 Nederlandse vertaling

When you work with Booking Experts, you can also purchase a new website from Booking Experts. You can also keep your old website first, for example if it is just new. You only take our search & book. This article is about the technical settings of this.

1. Domain website
2. Domain search & book
3. Domain management and DNS settings
4. DKIM records

Domain website

A website is on a 'domain'. Each language is on a separate domain. For example:

Note: If you purchase a website from Booking Experts, you must ensure that you have a separate domain for each language.

Domain search & book

If you only purchase the search & book, then the search & book must also run on the same domain as the website. To set this up, the search & book is placed on subdomains. A separate subdomain must be created for each language. Often that is:
Note: A separate subdomain must therefore exist for each language.
Your website builder places a button on the current website that links to our search & book. This for example the URL: https://boeken.PARK.nl/reserveren. It is important to set the crossdomain tracking properly. This can be provided by your marketing agency or our marketing colleagues from Booking Boosters can set this up.

Domain management and DNS settings

Your domain(s) are under management somewhere. You can just leave them under management or choose to move them to a party like Transip or HostNet.
We will provide you with instructions for adjusting the DNS settings. You can do this yourself or have it done by the administrator of your domain(s). Of course we can also help you set these records. In that case you can invite support@bookingexperts.nl as a user in the control panel of your domain(s).
Note: The TTL determines the length of time to go live. It is best to set the TTL at 5 minutes. If you do not know what TTL means, it is best to ask the administrator of your domain(s) to adjust it in advance.

DKIM records

DKIM records is an extra step and can be set optionally. DKIM is used if the e-mail from the holiday park or camping is often seen as spam. It is an extra signature that indicates that the e-mail really comes from the holiday park or camping that belongs to the domain. You can find the DNS records in the DNS settings in Booking Experts if you have the correct rights.
1. Click on the Gear in the top right;
2. Click in the right submenu on Other administration settings;
3. Click the Outgoing E-mail tab.
If everything is correct for the DKIM records, the records will turn green in Booking Experts. Please note: If the DKIM records are enabled, it is important that this is also enabled for the other email providers. For example with Google or Outlook.
