Viewing and correcting register counts

Register counts can be viewed via the 'Counts' submenu. You can filter by date, by a specific register, or by the employee who performed the count. This data can also be exported.

To view the counts, your user account needs the 'Setup' or 'Financial' rights.

Per register count, you can view which employee performed it, what the totals of the count were, and, for a closing count, which receipts are associated with it. If a count needs to be corrected, this is done at the next opening of the register.

Undoing a register count is not possible. Once an incorrect count has been confirmed, it can only be corrected at the next opening of the register.

Correcting a count

  • Incorrect count is too low: If too little was registered at the previous count, this amount must be added to the actual count at the next opening. Make sure to enter this under the correct payment method.
  • Incorrect count is too high: If too much was registered at the previous count, this amount must be deducted from the actual count at the next opening. Entering a negative amount is possible here. Make sure to enter this under the correct payment method.

It is not possible to add extra cash to the register without a transaction or correction. This would cause a cash discrepancy. It is possible to increase the minimum amount of cash in the cash register, or to manually reduce the amount that is transferred to the safe at closing.

What is the difference between cash discrepancies and payment discrepancies?

Cash discrepancies relate to cash payments. Payment discrepancies relate to card payments. The difference nothing more than the payment method. Both cash discrepancies and payment discrepancies can be corrected as explained above. When performing a count, make sure to enter the information in the right place, at the correct payment method.
