Creating a pop-up
You can create pop-ups to show on your website. To create a pop-up, open the 'Content' dropdown in your CMS environment and select 'Pop-ups'. Click 'New' in the upper right corner, or select an existing pop-up to edit it.
Pop-up type
You choose the type of pop-up based on the content you want to display in it. An informational pop-up contains text. A call-to-action pop-up contains text as well as an action button. A form pop-up contains text as well as a predetermined form.
You can add an image to any of these pop-up types if you wish.
Display settings
In the display settings you have four display options, three of which are automatic. Automatic means that the pop-up is shown once when opening any page where this pop-up is active. For 'on whole site' this is every page of every subsite. Use 'on specific subsites' to limit the pop-up to all pages of a specific subsite. If you choose 'Specific pages', you have to manually select one or more pages.
Make sure to remove automatically displayed pop-ups when they are no longer relevant, or deactivate them by editing and selecting the fourth display option 'Never'.
The fourth display option is 'Never', for pop-ups that should not be shown automatically. The only way to still show a visitor a pop-up of this kind is to put the pop-up behind a button.
Add pop-up to button
Add the Button widget to the page where you want to display it. Choose the link type 'show a pop-up', and select the correct pop-up. Complete the other button settings as desired.
A button with a pop-up can be a good way to integrate things like a registration form for your newsletter into your website.
