Archiving a type

Are you not using a certain type of rentals anymore? Then you can archive this type, so it is no longer approachable. In this article, it will be explained how and when you can archive a type.

A type can only be archived when there are no more active rentals attached to it. Therefore, you need to retrieve the rentals out of rent.

Retrieving rentals out of rent

The rentals can be retrieved of rent by editing the setup of the rental and uncheck the 'for rent' box. More about retrieving rentals out of rent, can be found here.

When archiving a cluster type or grouped type also think about retrieving the virtual rental that you created out of rent. This can be done by editing the setup of the virtual rental and unchecking the 'for rent' box.

Archiving the type

Once the underlying rentals have been retrieved out of rent, you can archive the type via the submenu types. Here you can click on the specific type that you want to archive and afterwards you click on the button 'archive'.

Sometimes you want to edit the setup, but you receive a notification saying that there are reservations that are outside the rentable setup. In most cases, this is because the reservations were imported from another system. To fix this error, you will need to move the start date of the current setup to a date in the past. This date should be at least before the date of the first reservation. Is there a reservation on the date of the edit? Then you need to choose a date on which the reservation checks in or out.
