Email campaign show for languages

If you want to send a newsletter in multiple languages, you can easily set this up in the e-mail campaign at 'Show for locales'. Ideal when you want to speak to or update your foreign guests.

How does this work?

The e-mail addresses added to the CMS all have a language. If you want to send a newsletter to German e-mail addresses, for example, they will only receive a German newsletter. Depending on the language set at the mail address and the language entered at 'Show for locales', the CMS takes this into account when sending the newsletter. This way, guests only receive the newsletter in the language they are signed up for.

How do you set this up?

First, create an e-mail campaign with the correct data.

  1. In the 'Settings', enter which language(s) the newsletter should be sent to. The CMS automatically keeps the language(s) entered under 'Show for locales'.
  2. Fill the newsletter with the desired content and translate it manually. If you have the translation module, the texts are automatically translated within 24 hours. Check whether the texts have been translated properly.

Please note: the link in buttons is not automatically translated along with it. Adjust this by adding the correct URL for each language. To do this, click on the flag, select the correct language and enter the new URL.

  1. Under 'Tagging', select the appropriate e-mail addresses. Since the e-mail addresses are provided with a language, the system will take into account the recipient's language when sending a newsletter.

Tip: If you only want to send a newsletter to German or English guests, you can indicate this under 'Show for locales'. Delete the other languages. If you only use Dutch for 'Show for locales', German/English e-mail addresses will not receive the newsletter.

To summarise: So you don't have to create 3 separate newsletters for English, German and Dutch, you create 1 email campaign that is translated and automatically sent to the correct languages.
