How does the guest pay the deposit?
In the deposit policy, you can set when the deposit is due.
Deposit combined with a payment term
If you want the deposit to be paid jointly with the first or last installment of a set payment policy, the deposit will be paid with the first down payment or last installment.
Example: According to the payment policy, the last installment of 70% (€700.00) must be paid in advance on April 25. The deposit (€100.00) must be paid together with the last installment on April 25. It is communicated to the guest that €800.00 (including the €100.00 deposit) must be paid by April 25.
Separate payment for security deposit
You can charge a deposit separately by setting a specific payment deadline for it. You indicate how many days before arrival the deposit must be paid.
Missed payment deadlines
When payment is not made on time, the expired payment term is shown in the Open payments overview. You can grant extension from this overview by adjusting the payment deadline, or send a reminder.
For payment deadlines of a reservation or invoice, specific email notifications are sent, such as the email templates 'Booking payment first reminder' or 'Invoice payment final notice'.
For security deposits, there is also a specific email template: 'Payment notification one day before a security deposit deadline expires'. This email template is sent only for security deposits of which the security deposit policy specifies that payment must be made by a separate payment deadline.
