How does the guest pay the deposit?

In the deposit policy, you can set when the deposit is due.

Deposit combined with a payment arrangement

If you want the deposit to be paid jointly with the first or last installment of a payment plan, the deposit will be paid with the first down payment or last installment.

Example: According to the payment arrangement, the last payment installment of 70% (€700.00) must be paid in advance on April 25. The deposit (€100.00) must be paid together with the last installment on April 25. It is communicated to the guest that €800.00 (including €100.00 deposit) must be paid by April 25.


Separate payment period for security deposit

You can charge a separate deposit by setting a separate payment period for it. You specify how many days before arrival the deposit must be paid. The email template 'Deposit payment request' notifies the guest that a deposit is required for the reservation and by when it is due.


Expired payment terms

When payment is not made on time, the expired payment term is shown in the Open payments overview. You can grant extension from this overview by adjusting the payment deadline or sending a reminder.

For payment deadlines, booking- or invoice-specific email notifications are sent, such as the 'Payment reminder for an outstanding payment' or 'Reminder for an outstanding invoice' email templates.

For escrow-specific payment terms, escrow-specific email notifications are sent, such as the 'Escrow Payment Reminder' email template. These email templates are sent only for sureties where the surety policy specifies that payment must be made by a separate payment deadline.
