Changing the Collect method
Suppose you want to switch from Booking Experts Collect to Advertiser Collect or vice versa. This is possible for the apps Booking.com, Expedia, HomeToGo and Vrbo. To do this, you need to adjust a few things. First of all, you need to reconnect your administrations with the app, because this is where the collect method is stored. Go to the relevant app in the App Store and disable/remove all connected administrations. Then, you can create new administrations. In the case of Booking.com, the term may be 'accommodations' instead of administrations.
For Expedia and Booking.com, be sure to note down the Hotel ID / External ID! You will need this again when creating a new link. For Vrbo and HomeToGo, this ID is stored in the so-called advertiser, which does not need to be changed; you just re-connect your administration.
When reconnecting your administration, this time choose the other, preferred collect method. Then, you can link your types and price profiles as they were before, and activate the link.
When you set up the new invoicing method, a new channel is also automatically created in Booking Experts. It is important that you check your costs to make sure that all costs that you had set in the ‘old’ channel are now also set in the new channel. You cannot yet delete the ‘old’ channel due to existing reservations, so make sure you can clearly distinguish between the two.
From Advertiser collect to Booking Experts collect
If you go from Advertiser collect to Booking Experts collect, you start sending booking confirmations yourself, and with it the payment link. The guest will no longer pay the third party, which means you will now be working with a guest invoice.
For Booking.com: also turn off payments via Booking.com in the financial settings in your Booking.com account.
From Booking Experts collect to Advertiser collect
When you go to Advertiser collect, you will start working with channel invoices. This means that payments will no longer be automatically added to the reservation, and you will have to manually add them when you have received the payment from the channel. The easiest way to add these payments is via the channel settlements.
For Booking.com: also turn on payments via Booking.com in the financial settings in your Booking.com account.
