Costs in packages

When creating or editing a package, relevant cost items can be added and adjusted in the 'Composition' section.

Add optional costs to automatically add them to a reservation when this package is chosen. Add mandatory costs to change the price of those costs when this package is chosen.

Important: the 'addition' checkbox for packages with an all-in price

The package types 'Fixed period' and 'Fixed total price' use all-in prices. In these types, a checkbox marked 'addition' appears for each added cost item.

In these packages, you set a fixed total price for the entire stay. That means that the collected rent amount is dependent on the total cost of the added cost items (rent amount = total price - cost items). 

If you want to charge a certain cost item outside of this total price, you mark it as 'addition'. The amount for this cost item is charged on top of the set total price. Furthermore, it is possible to manually lower the costs of the cost items in the package to raise the collected rent amount without adjusting the set total price.

All mandatory costs are automatically included in the calculation, even if these costs have not been explicitly added to the package. If you want to charge these costs as an 'addition', or adjust the charged amounts, you will have to add them to the package.

Some cost items cannot be included in a package

A package cannot include cost items that are a percentage of the total rental amount, because the total rental amount itself contains factors that are based on a percentage. Calculating a percentage of a percentage is not possible, and therefore these types of cost items are not available for a package. In this case, the workaround would be to change the cost item to a percentage of the standard rental amount.
