Packages

You can create packages and offer them via your website, in the Search and Book. Think of an Easter package, or a Valentines package. Packages are a great way to increase bookings or upsell stays for certain periods. It is also possible to make cancellation insurance available to your guests via a package.

Types of packages

There are 5 different types of packages, each is suited to a different purpose. Read more about the types of packages and their differences.

Creating a package

You can create a package in the Setup module, under Packages. Read more about creating, editing, or archiving a package.

Costs in packages

The composition of cost items is the most important part of a package. Read more about costs in packages.

Availability of packages

Packages can be limited in their availability, and their visibility on your website and Search&Book. Read more about package visibility and availability.

Package campaigns

If you want to bundle multiple packages, you can do so using a package campaign. In the Search & Book, only the campaign name will be displayed, and if selected, all the bundled packages will be applied automatically.

Changing the order of packages as shown on the website

You can define the order in which packages are displayed online by clicking and dragging them to the desired positions in the packages overview page. Also read about how to highlight packages on your website in search & book - Packages.

Packages cannot be booked through a tour operator

Packages in Booking Experts cannot be booked through a tour operator because the API doesn’t support packages. This is intentional, as packages include various cost items—some charged to guests (e.g., preference fees, final cleaning) and others to tour operators (e.g., energy fees). Since this distinction can't be made within a package, they aren’t shared via the API.

A package is not subject to other discounts

A package is a combination of several cost items, either for a fixed price or with a built-in discount. In order to be able to properly apply this fixed price, the system will not apply any other discount to a reservation. In the case of a package with a built-in discount, it is not desirable to stack another discount on top of that.
