Creating, editing or archiving packages

If you want to use packages in the system, you might have to create these via the Setup module under Packages first. If packages have already been created, you can edit, copy, or archive them.

Creating a package

When creating a new package, first choose which type of package you want to have. Then, the package settings have to be filled. There are several parts that may require special attention.

Four checkboxes below the package description

Guests should explicitly confirm the terms mentioned in the description. Useful if the description mentions that the package includes non-refundable costs, for instance.

Show costs that are part of this package to the guest in the search & book (frontoffice). If checked, guests can see which cost items are included. If unchecked, guests will only see the package name.

Cancellation insurance, include in the cancellation insurance export. Check this box if you're setting up this package to offer cancellation insurance to your guests.

Available as upgrade; guest can also add this later after booking, through the upgrade link. Determines whether guests are able to book this package as an upgrade via the Customer portal.

Period

Here, you specify when the package can be booked, and when it can be used. Read more about the availability of packages.

Composition

Here, you specify the cost items included in the package. Read Costs in packages for more information.

Editing, copying or archiving a package

Once created, you can always edit a package later. Simply navigate to the package you wish to edit via the overview page, and click the edit button in the top right corner. In the edit page, you will then also see the buttons 'Copy' and 'Archive'. After copying a package, you can edit the new package before saving it. Note that it is not possible to edit the type of package, for this you will need to create a new one. Archiving a package will delete it for any new reservations, and cannot be undone.
