Discount calculation for reservations

Only one discount is applied to a reservation, meaning the discount that is most advantageous for the guest. The calculation considers discount actions that apply to:

  • The reserved object type;
  • The channel;
  • The dates on which the reservation is made;
  • The period in which the reservation falls.

A discount can be applied if the arrival date of the reservation falls within the validity period of the discount. The reservation must also meet the minimum number of nights set in the discount.

The chosen dates of the reservation will not change due to the discount, even if this would be more advantageous for the guest.

Examples:

A discount is valid for the period from February 1st to February 28th, with a minimum of 10 nights. This discount is not applied to a reservation from January 25th to February 7th, because this reservation has less than 10 nights in the discount period.

A discount is set to a a discount percentage of 50% on a maximum of 7 nights. The weekly rate from 1 to 14 January is €100, the weekly rate from 15 to 31 January is €200. This means that for a reservation from the 7th to the 21st of January, a 50% discount is applied to the first 7 nights. The total amount will therefore be €50 + €200 = €250.
