Creating grouped types

A grouped type means that you offer a number of rentals of different types together. For example, you could offer a 6-person bungalow combined with two 4-person bungalows. In this support article we explain how you can create a grouped type and what the consequences are for your reservations.

Before you start creating a grouped type, we recommend you to first take a look at creating cluster types or group bookings. After all, these are easier ways to process group bookings.

Grouped types vs. cluster types

Grouped types and cluster types have many similarities, but there is one important difference: grouped types combine random rentals of different types, whereas cluster types contain specifically chosen rentals that are offered in combination. For example, cluster types are useful for semi-detached houses, which you want to offer both separately and together. More information about cluster types can be found here.

Create grouped types

In the grouped types submenu, you can create new grouped types. The details of creating a grouped type are mostly the same as creating a new type. The only difference is that with grouped types you can link the types with the number of rentals of the type that you want to offer collectively.

The group can only be booked if the specified number of rentals of each type are available during the entire period.

After creating the grouped type, you still need to take the following steps:

  1. Upload images
  2. Specify prices
  3. Create rentals

You can upload new images for the grouped type, or use the same images you use for the different types. We recommend using a mix of images from all the types that fall under the grouped type. Also, try to leave out the amenities that might differ for each rental.

The rental you create for a grouped type is also called a "virtual rental". The reservation created is placed on this virtual rental and then the underlying objects are blocked.
